There’s a lot that goes into the magic of Disney World — the rides, the food, the fireworks — but if you ask us, the real magic comes from the Cast Members.
These are the people who go out of their way to make your trip feel unforgettable, often in ways you never expect. Whether it’s a kind gesture, a surprise gift, or just the perfect dose of pixie dust at exactly the right time, Cast Members are the heart and soul of what makes Disney feel so special. As a former Cast Member, I’m getting real about one thing Cast Members do — “Magical Moments”.
“Magical Moments” are extra special moments that can happen at the Disney parks, typically done by Cast Members for guests. This could look like getting a room upgrade at check-in at a Disney resort, a Cast Member giving you a free cupcake, or getting picked to do something special.
This is usually done when a Cast Member goes out of their way to make a guest’s day extra special. Unfortunately, the internet has almost ruined them. These used to be more frequent in the parks, but guests started expecting them on their vacation because they read about someone else’s experience online. That’s where it all went wrong.
You cannot expect a magical moment to happen, and you should NOT ask a Cast Member to make one happen. These are so special because they are rare. Guests should not be entitled to one. This makes it even more amazing when one does happen to you. This is also your reminder to be kind to Cast Members. They work so hard and they do so much for guests all day.
